Museveni Has Betrayed Uganda. 80 years but won’t retire
The list of pan-Africanists who sell out in the end, just added a new name. Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni, the president of Uganda since 1987.
A baby who was born on the same day Museveni became Uganda’s president is almost 40 years old now. They are probably married and have children of their own.
Looking at this long list of African sell out presidents, you can’t help it but wonder, why? Why do politicians hate retirement? Is it love for their job, or hate for unemployment? After all who likes to be unemployed?
The cost of living is always rising, ordinary people are alittle worried about earning enough to sustain a decent lifestyle. The problem is, Museveni and others on that list of shame are not ordinary people.
Throughout their political careers, politicians amass vast wealth. These president’s are multi-millionaires. They have enough money to fund their entire families for many years.
How they get that money; all the vast acres of land, houses, buildings, businesses, stocks, etc. we don’t want to know, at-least for now.
We just want an answer.
Why can’t they simply retire, when their time is up?
The fact that these presidents never want to retire, and clear space for the youthful to take over, proves how they care less for the future of their countries.
This dangerous political behavior, is suicidal too.
When a terrorist hijacks a plane, they have no respect whatsoever for the passengers inside. They go in and carry out their suicidal mission, killing themselves and everyone else on board.
I think this is the mentality of leaders who refuse to accept that they are too old to lead a country into the future. Such leaders are cowards. And they shouldn’t be called leaders.
Museveni is doing exactly the mistakes and crimes he accused the former two presidents of Uganda. Nepotism and favoritism, disregard for democracy and laws, disregard for citizen’s interests, disregard for stronger institutions, and disregard for the future of the nation.
In Museveni’s mind, his son Muhoozi should replace him. Funny enough, he will have to wait until he’s nolonger in this world.

Otherwise, he would have let him run for presidency next year. But no, the 80 year old Museveni will campaign to retain his 40 year old presidecy.
In otherwords, Museveni believes that Uganda is some kingdom of his own. And just as kings never give up power, he won’t either. And if that time comes, he will leave the throne to his son, Muhoozi.
Note that Muhoozi is already in charge of Uganda’s army. While other family members of Museveni are in charge of various strategic institutions. Typical kingdom leadership style.
This monopolised politics is as dangerous as monopoly in business. The End is always dangerous, chaotic, and destructive.
It is because of politicians like Museveni that Africa has earned a reputation for barbarism and backwardness. A continent of monkeys, they call it.
Whereas, we are far from monkeys — but sometimes the actions you do may resemble something else. Like refusing to retire at 80 years old is a monkey move. Typical monkey thinking!
For people whose country is a republic to behave as though their country is a kingdom, is monkey move. Typical monkey behavior.
If Ugandans want their country to be a kingdom. Then let them openly say it and do it.
Call it ‘the kingdom of Uganda’. Call the leader a ‘king’ not a president.
Be honest and open about who you are and what you do. Otherwise, you are a monkey.
We wish the citizens of Uganda blessings, courage, and maturity in their kingdom led by their king ‘Museveni’.
