NATO Members Agree To Spike Defence Budget to 5%
On the 24th June 2025 all 32 members of NATO landed in Holland for the Hague Summit.
The Netherlands, which hosted the summit, is one of the 12 first members who created NATO in 1949.
Shortly after the second world war, European nations and their North American counterparts.
They decided to form a political and security organization mandated to protect members — and to advance the interests and way of life of the Western world.
The most important binding factor for all 32 NATO members is that “an attack on one member is an attack on all. ”
This has sealed the bond of brotherhood between European nations and North America. Limiting any potential conflict between the two continents. And amongst each other.
Whereas, NATO has ensured peace amongst European nations and North America, it has caused wars else where. Like in 2011 when NATO attacked Libya and ruthlessly killed Gaddafi.
That’s no surprise though, because it’s well written in the mandate of NATO that it’ll: advance the interests of its members.
One question lingers, why don’t other countries especially those in the developing world create an organization like NATO?
Such regional security and political organizations would solve conflict problems in Africa, Middle East, South America, and the Caribbean.
Perhaps, because such high level cooperation requires a certain degree of political and social maturity.
Note that, European nations and their counterparts in North America have reached a considerable degree of political and social maturity which uproot social, economic and political systems unsuitable for progress and cooperation.
That’s why there are no coup d’etats in Europe or North America, while a country like Haiti gets about 3 regime changes in a single year.
Developing nations must develop a social, economic, and political maturity that puts the lives and interests of all their citizens first.
Its a shame that African countries who were both enslaved and colonized by European countries have not yet learn’t anything life changing from their adversaries.
Look at Europeans and ask yourself, “what makes them stronger?” “What makes them win?” Then go ahead and do it.
“Is somebody listening?”
“Hello!”
