Miss Africa Column /11th episode: Umugiraneza Betty just published her first motivational book, inspiring you to become your best self. Her new book is a guide to daily self-improvement. She's a global humanitarian professional working to support displaced people in East Africa. Beautiful Indeed.
Who are you?
“I’m an experienced humanitarian professional with over 10 years of administrative project management experience with strong intercultural competencies, event coordination, and client relationship-building skills.”
“I have experience working for international businesses that support vulnerable & displaced populations in East Africa.
And I enjoy supporting people in events planning.”
“Recently, I published my first book titled: Become Your Best Self – A Guide To Self-Improvement which earns me a new rank ‘Author’.”
“I like traveling, meeting, and connecting with people.”
“I have a dream big enough to include other people — I strive to help others become their best version every day.”
What is your project?
“I’m a committed motivational agent. I try my best to spread inspiration to others. To reach a wide audience, I recently published my first book ‘Become Your Best Self — A Guide To Daily Self-Improvement’.
From the first page to the cover, my primary goal is to encourage you to step beyond your comfort zone and strive to become the best version of yourself. Each chapter is infused with the principles of leadership, resilience, and personal development that have shaped my journey.
Besides that, I’m a humanitarian professional working with Alight / Formerly American Refugee Committee an international organization that builds a meaningful life for and with displaced individuals.
In 2018, I was among the 10 finalists selected from over two thousand global staff and volunteers. The winning idea was targeting the Refugee women and girls mentorship program.
How does your project impact society?
“We co-create solutions with our customers(Refugees/Displaced people) to participate in problem-solving hand in hand who know best what they need.
I work to make sure donors and senior staff have unleashed experience in our implementations leveraging social media platforms to share light of displaced (Refugee) people initiatives.
It makes me happy to be the voice of the voiceless!
In Rwanda, there are thousands of displaced people and the majority are women and girls.
Interacting with them daily has impacted my book.”
What can African Girls and Women do to become successful?
“Reflecting on my book, ‘Become Your Best Self_ A Guide To Daily Self-Improvement’ African women and girls must know how to prioritize what’s important, value learning, network with the world around them, and finally they must adopt a financial culture of saving and investing a part of what they earn.
For more valuable tips, I encourage everyone to read my new book available on amazon.com.”
